Coast 34 Pilothouse – Misteri
Misteri is a rare and beautifully crafted Coast 34 Pilothouse cruiser, designed by renowned West Coast naval architect Graham Shannon and based on the proven Roberts 34 hull. Built in the Lower Mainland, finished in the Comox Valley, and launched in 2004, she was originally outfitted with offshore passagemaking in mind, resulting in a remarkably capable, comfortable, and intelligently designed cruising yacht with exceptional storage and seaworthiness.
One of only a handful of pilothouse Coast 34s ever built, Misteri stands apart with her distinctive profile, practical layout, and impressive sailing performance. Her extra-tall double-spreader mast, inboard shroud configuration, and robust chainplate design provide excellent windward ability while maintaining structural integrity and keeping water intrusion at bay.
Power comes from a recently installed Beta Marine 25hp diesel engine, flex-coupled to a stainless shaft and efficient three-blade Campbell Sailor propeller. Combined with a 50-gallon fuel tank, dual stainless water tanks, and extensive solar capability, she is exceptionally well-equipped for extended cruising.
Below deck, Misteri showcases warm birch paneling with edge-grain fir cabinetry and trim throughout. The interior layout is both inviting and practical, featuring:
Thoughtful engineering details are found throughout the vessel, including multiple watertight compartments, easy-access battery and engine spaces, integrated workshop storage, and a cockpit designed for both comfort and functionality. A hard bimini with twin 80W solar panels and recently updated side curtains further enhance livability underway or at anchor.
Sail inventory includes:
With her solid offshore pedigree, rare pilothouse design, and handcrafted West Coast charm, Misteri represents a unique opportunity for sailors seeking a capable cruiser equally suited to coastal exploration or ambitious passage-making.
