Full Details

SnowBored is a 106-foot Westport, built in 2003 by one of America’s most established composite yacht builders. She stands as one of the most thoughtfully customized examples of the iconic Westport 98/112 platform on the market today – a hull with a well-earned reputation for build quality, resale strength, and genuine seakeeping ability across the Pacific coast and beyond. Engineered from the outset for water toys, fishing, and open-air entertaining.

Paired with a satin cherry interior and  a genuine four-stateroom layout, each with ensuite heads, SnowBored presents as one of the more livable, well-thought-out examples of this platform currently available. Her current owners have kept her proactively maintained throughout their ownership, balancing regular use for their own getaways with the kind of disciplined upkeep that removes the guesswork common to yachts of this age for the next owner.

Cruising Profile

Semi-displacement performance with a comfortable cruise and exceptional range – SnowBored is equally capable running the California coast, the Sea of Cortez, or North through the Pacific Northwest and Inside Passage toward British Columbia and Alaska for owners planning extended summer seasons.

Approximate range at cruise: 2,000 nm @ 10knt Cruise

Layout & Accommodation

SnowBored sleeps 8 guests across four staterooms – a full-beam Owner’s suite, a VIP stateroom, and two additional guest cabins each with attached ensuite heads – each finished in satin cherry joinery that reads warm and classic rather than dated. Private crew quarters with ensuites are fully separated in the aft, keeping crew operations away from the guest side of the boat entirely.

The main deck layout moves naturally from the forward pilothouse through the salon and dining area to the aft cockpit – a floor plan that keeps indoor and outdoor spaces connected rather than compartmentalized.

Deck, Cockpit & Toys

SnowBored‘s design delivers spacious walkways all around the vessel, making movement fore and aft and access to the side decks, easy and secure for guests and crew. With generous room for 8 guests throughout, it’s a layout that rewards time spent outside, not just inside – from bow seating up forward, to the topside loungers and hot tub above, to the mid-deck salon for those who’d rather stay in the shade.

The covered cockpit is a standout feature of this hull: a shielded, all-weather outdoor living space that lets guests sit out on the water year-round, protected from sun and rain whether underway or at anchor. It’s the kind of space that turns a quick stop into an afternoon.

Set up for serious use, the cockpit includes a fighting chair with live bait well, a dive ladder, and space for a full water-toy complement.

Toy inventory includes a 15ft Highfield tender with 90hp Yamaha outboard, two kayaks, two Honda PCX 150 scooters, and a fully outfitted Penn fishing gear package. A hot tub on the upper deck and Starlink satellite round out the amenities for extended time aboard.

Propulsion – Fully Documented, Mid-Life Mechanicals

Twin MTU/DDC 12V-2000 diesels power SnowBored, comprehensively rebuilt at 6,500 hours by a certified MTU service facility. At approximately 6,435 hours since major overhaul, both engines sit mid-cycle rather than approaching a high-hour liability – a meaningful distinction for a serious buyer’s surveyor.

Cruise speed of 10-12 knots with a 22-knot top end, and a range of approximately 2,000 nm @ 10knt cruise.

Complete rebuild documentation is available to qualified parties: shop work orders, parts manifest, MTU certification, and full subsequent service history. This is a proactively maintained propulsion plant, not one running out the clock on an overhaul.

Navigation and helm electronics are current and fully updated at both the main helm and flybridge station, giving the next owner a turnkey electronics package

Hull & Construction

Westport’s advanced composite construction – fiberglass mat and roving over Airex/Corecell coring – gives SnowBored a semi-displacement hull built for efficiency and low long-term maintenance relative to comparable platforms. Shallow draft (5’6″) keeps coastal and skinny-water anchorages accessible that deeper-draft yachts this size simply can’t reach.

Ownership Opportunity

SnowBored is available for sale in whole, one third or quarter shares – an entry point into Westport ownership at a fraction of the capital commitment, ideal for owners seeking a properly maintained superyacht platform without full sole-ownership carrying costs.

Qualifying US buyers may also wish to discuss 100% bonus depreciation eligibility with their tax advisor.
