Navigation Equipment
‘Odin’ has a comprehensive Raymarine navigation suite, substantially upgraded in 2022, providing modern and reliable electronics for coastal cruising and offshore passage-making.
The helm stations are equipped with Raymarine i70 displays, a Raymarine Axiom 12 Pro multifunction GPS/chartplotter, and a Raymarine P70 autopilot control, giving the helmsman clear access to navigation, vessel information and autopilot functions at both helm stations. The autopilot is paired with a Lecomble & Schmitt hydraulic steering system, including a new emergency hydraulic cylinder.
The radar system was upgraded in 2022 with a Raymarine Quantum radar, with communications being handled by Icom IC-M330 fixed VHF and Icom IC-M37 portable VHF radios. A Raymarine AIS transceiver, also from 2022, provides both vessel identification and enhanced situational awareness.
For communications and connectivity offshore, ‘Odin’ is equipped with Iridium GO and Starlink, making it particularly well suited to modern cruising and extended time away from marinas.
A dedicated navigation table includes a iMac computer and display, providing an additional navigation edge.
Sails and Rigging
‘Odin’ is equipped with a versatile, easily managed furling sail plan that is particularly well suited to cruising, while retaining the performance and flexibility expected of a yacht of this size.
The Sparcraft mast and standing rigging were substantially upgraded in 2025, with new Sparcraft Dyform standing rigging providing an important recent investment in the yacht’s offshore capability. The running rigging has also been extensively upgraded with Dyneema, reducing weight aloft while providing excellent strength and durability.
The sail inventory includes an in-mast furling mainsail, a 2020 furling genoa, and a 2020 furling staysail, giving the boat plenty of flexibility across a range of conditions. The genoa is operated on a Facnor LS290 furling system installed in 2024, while the staysail uses a Furlex 404 S system.
For lighter-air sailing, an asymmetrical spinnaker with sock from 2020 and spinnaker pole are included.
The deck hardware is centered around a comprehensive Harken winch and block package, including two ST70.2 electric winches and two electric ST50 winches with remote controls. Harken blocks, Spinlock clutches and a Sparcraft rigid vang complete a well-equipped and easily managed sail handling system.
With new Dyform standing rigging, extensive Dyneema running rigging, modern furling systems and a versatile sail inventory, this Jeanneau 57 is exceptionally well set up for comfortable shorthanded cruising and longer offshore passages.
Machinery
This Jeanneau 57 has been extensively maintained and upgraded, with significant investment in her mechanical systems over the past several years. The vessel’s machinery has been carefully serviced with a number of important components renewed in 2024 and 2025, providing confidence for extended cruising.
‘Odin’ is equipped with a Volkswagen 140hp inboard engine with only 355 engine hours. It is equipped with dual alternators for rapid charging while underway. Further recent work includes a new Volvo rotary joint and Hydrolube bearing/ring, both replaced in 2025, along with a bow thruster for improved maneuverability in tight quarters.
Electrical generation is provided by a 9 kW Onan diesel generator, with its water pump, injectors and diesel fuel pump replaced in June 2024. This provides ample power for the yacht’s extensive onboard systems, including air conditioning, watermaker and domestic appliances.
The vessel also features hydraulic steering with Lecomble & Schmitt components, including a new emergency hydraulic cylinder, as well as a comprehensive Victron electrical system incorporating a 5000w MultiPlus inverter/charger and modern lithium house battery bank.
All throughhulls have been upgraded with top of the line TruDesign marine components, adding further peace of mind throughout the vessel’s systems.
